Nenad Rašković, who was brutally beaten today by the so-called Kosovo Police, told Kosovo Online that three officers pulled him out of his family home, after which they tied him to a tree and beat him, demanding that he give them a rifle which, as he said, he does not have.

“Three of them came to my house in Dren today, and when they arrived, they threw me onto the bed and beat me. They were looking for a rifle, but I don’t have a rifle. After that, they said they would come back at 5 p.m. for me to bring the rifle,” Rašković recounted.

Then, as he added, they handcuffed him, took him into the forest, and tied him to a beech tree.

“And they beat me with a hose and put a rag over my mouth,” Rašković added.

The whole time, as he stated, they demanded that he find a rifle and hand it over to them.

“They beat me, but I don’t have a rifle,” said Rašković.

As he says, they then left and abandoned him tied up, but they returned and released him.

“They took me down to the road. They left me on the asphalt, and I walked back toward home. Slowly, slowly. When I reached home, the agony began. They stormed into the house, intimidated my son, mistreated my wife, ‘Do you want us to expel you to Albania?’ My wife is Albanian,” stated Rašković, with whom Kosovo Online spoke at the KBC Kosovska Mitrovica where he was hospitalized.

He also added that they told him they would come to his place again tomorrow.

“I don’t know what to do,” Rašković said.

Doctor Goran Radojević from KBC Kosovska Mitrovica said that patient Nenad Rašković was admitted to that health institution due to injuries sustained in a physical assault carried out by members of the Kosovo Police.

Radojević stated that Rašković underwent a clinical examination upon admission, that diagnostics were performed, and that he is currently in the shock room under the care of an adequate medical team and appropriate therapy.

“Diagnostics are still ongoing, a full body scan is being conducted that will show internal injuries inflicted by some heavy object. Hematomas are obvious. He has them on his back, on his chest, and on his head,” said Radojević.

He added that these are severe injuries, and that the further clinical picture depends on the diagnostics and the patient’s condition on the ground.

Radojević added that completed diagnostics can be expected in about two hours.

“He is currently stable and under medical supervision,” said Radojević, an orthopedic surgeon.
