Longtime and influential member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Joe Wilson delivered a harsh message to the authorities in Belgrade, accusing Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić of serving as a “Chinese puppet” through which the Chinese Communist Party is expanding its influence and high technology in the very heart of Europe.
The Republican congressman shared a photograph of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić with humanoid robots in front of the National Assembly building on the social network X and launched an unrestrained attack on the political leadership in Belgrade.
“The Chinese Communist Party is building robots through its Serbian puppet Vučić. This is a Chinese communist stronghold in Europe and goes against American interests. Chinese communist technology must be rejected!” Wilson said.
The photograph that angered the Washington politician was taken during the promotion of the government rally “Serbia, One Family,” when President Vučić proudly presented two Chinese humanoid robots to the public. Dressed in Serbian traditional costumes and wearing šajkača caps on their heads, the robots named “Milutin and Dragutin” performed the traditional “Moravac” folk dance in front of the Assembly, which the regime presented as a combination of Serbian tradition and high technology.
However, this bizarre performance soon took on a geopolitical dimension.
The Chinese company “Minth” recently opened Europe’s first humanoid robot factory in Šabac, where the assembly of thousands of robotic units and robotic dogs has been announced. Western intelligence services were particularly concerned by the announcement that some versions would also be tested with weapons for the needs of the defense industry and the Serbian Armed Forces. It was precisely this direct link between Belgrade and Beijing in the field of military and technological cooperation that set off alarm bells in the United States.

Wilson’s message is a serious warning to Belgrade
Joe Wilson’s harsh statement comes as no surprise, given that the aforementioned congressman initiated a proposal for a special resolution and legislation on the Western Balkans, calling on the White House to conduct a detailed review and reassessment of relations with Serbia.
His goal, as stated, is to place Serbia’s security and economic cooperation with China and Russia under strict scrutiny through Washington’s legislative mechanisms, as well as to investigate allegations of corruption and the undermining of democracy in the country.
Diplomatic sources indicate that messages from politicians of Wilson’s stature in Washington are not considered personal opinions, but rather an announcement of concrete sanctions and economic pressure. What particularly concerns the United States is the fact that Serbia remains one of the few European countries importing Chinese military drones, missile systems, and now specialized humanoid technology.
