HORROR IN ZVEZDARA: An Azerbaijani approached a woman from behind while she was watering flowers and tried to assault her, she was saved by her husband!

Azerbaijani citizen R.Q. (47) was arrested and ordered into custody on suspicion of sexually harassing a woman from Belgrade in Zvezdara. As we unofficially learn, he approached her while she was in the yard of her family home watering flowers, held his genitals, and with his other hand started to attack the unfortunate woman.

As announced by the First Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, everything happened on August 8 around 1 p.m. in Zvezdara. It is suspected that the Azerbaijani entered the yard of the woman A.J. (30) in Zvezdara and approached her from behind.

“He followed her and entered the house after her, holding his genitals the whole time, with the intention of making physical contact with the victim,” the statement said.

As “Blic” learns, the woman started screaming, and her cries were heard by her husband who had been sleeping in the house until then. The attacker fled, and her husband, who jumped out of bed, started shouting at him. Soon after, the suspect returned to the scene of the attack where he was immediately arrested, after which he was ordered to be detained for up to 48 hours for sexual harassment.

Denied guilt in the prosecutor’s office

The defendant was interrogated before the First Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade on August 10, 2026, regarding the circumstances of the commission of the criminal offense he was charged with, and at that time he presented his defense and denied guilt for the attack in Zvezdara, after which a proposal was submitted to the pre-trial judge of the First Basic Court in Belgrade to order custody for the suspect based on Article 211, paragraph 1, points 1 and 2 of the Criminal Procedure Code, considering that there are special circumstances indicating that the suspect would flee if left at large, as well as that he would obstruct the proceedings by influencing witnesses.

During the evidentiary proceedings, the prosecution will examine witnesses, undertake the necessary expert evaluations, and after presenting all the evidence and establishing the exact and complete factual situation, make a decision on further action.
