[Police] have arrested Željko Vujović, who is suspected of attempted aggravated murder during a horse race in the village of Bijeljani near Bileća.
Mirko Samardžić was also arrested along with Vujović, who, according to police, fled with him after the incident.
Following their criminal investigation, both men will be handed over to the jurisdiction of the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Trebinje for further proceedings.
As a reminder, Vujović is suspected of the criminal offense of attempted aggravated murder following an incident at the horse race in Bijeljani, in which three people were injured.
Police had previously arrested G. Č. and M. I. on suspicion of helping Vujović after the crime was committed.
A video of the incident also appeared on social media yesterday. It shows a vehicle, allegedly driven by Vujović, speeding toward a group of people and striking them, before continuing at high speed across a field.
The arrest of Vujović and Samardžić brought the police search launched after the incident to an end, while further circumstances of the case and the potential responsibility of the suspects will be determined during the continuation of the proceedings.
