TEARS OF JOY IN THE NIŠ MATERNITY HOSPITAL: Mother Anđela (28) gave birth to triplets conceived naturally!

The birth of triplets is always a special event, and when they come into the world naturally and in good health, such news gladdens not only the family but the entire community. That is exactly why Vasilija, Vera, and Vida Mitić have these days become the most beautiful story coming from the University Clinical Center Niš.

Twenty-eight-year-old Anđela Mitić from Vranje brought into the world three baby girls who were born four weeks before the due date. Although they weigh slightly less than two kilograms, they are progressing well and are under the watchful eye of the doctors at the Niš Children’s Clinic.

The Head of Intensive Care at the Children’s Clinic of UKC Niš, Dr. Dejan Milojević, points out that such cases are very rare.

“It happens very rarely. These triplets were born four weeks before the due date, with a good weight for that age. They were on therapy in the Intensive Care, now they are in neonatology, we are waiting for them to reach 2000 g and go home,” Milojević said.

Special value is given to this event by the fact that the girls were conceived naturally, which is extremely rare today when it comes to triplets.

“What gladdens us the most is that these are children who were conceived naturally, which is very rare. This is not only the success of their family, it is the success of the entire country. All our doctors have shown that they are true professionals,” said the director of UKC Niš, Doc. Dr. Milan Lazarević.

The happiest is, of course, mom Anđela, who spends her days with her girls and eagerly awaits the moment when they will go home together.

“I am extremely satisfied with the treatment and care in the Niš maternity hospital. I am even more joyful because I received information that a new maternity hospital will be built in Niš, because moms will have the opportunity to welcome their babies in even better conditions,” Anđela said.

During the visit to the mother and the newborn girls, the mayor of Niš, Dragoslav Pavlović, reminded that the construction of a new maternity hospital near the new Clinical Center is planned.

“The new Niš maternity hospital is being built near the new Clinical Center, on over 20,000 square meters, with a large parking lot and a garage. We are extremely well-equipped both technically and staff-wise. The new maternity hospital will be one of the reasons for young people to build their families here,” Pavlović said.

While doctors monitor their progress, Vasilija, Vera, and Vida have already won the hearts of the employees at UKC Niš. If they continue to progress at the current pace, they will soon reach the required weight and start their first days at home together with their parents.
