MP RAISED HIS VOICE: “The patriarch and the SOC to urgently speak out regarding the story that the Vučićs gave a million euros for the arrival of the Belt of the Mother of God” (VIDEO)

After the appearance of the commissioner of the Hilandar monastery Miloš Stojković on TV Pink, in which he stated that the Vučić family, more precisely the brother and father of the president, Andrej and Anđelko Vučić, who on this occasion donated a million euros to the Vatopedi monastery on Mount Athos, is responsible for the arrival of the Honorable Belt of the Most Holy Mother of God in Serbia, member of parliament Žarko Ristić reacted.

In his open letter to the public, he stated that “as a member of parliament of the Republic of Serbia and a believer of the Serbian Orthodox Church” he addresses “primarily the public relations office of the Serbian Orthodox Church and His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije,” from whom he demands to “speak out and prevent further dissolution and humiliation of our Church.”

The address further says:

“It is unworthy that after the stay of the Belt of the Mother of God in the Church of Saint Sava, the belt is talked about as a consequence of the good will of Anđelko Vučić and his son Andrej. It is unworthy that the grace of the Belt of the Mother of God, which over 700,000 people managed to kiss, is reduced to the contributions of the Vučić family and their alleged charity.

DEMANDS ANSWERS AND REACTIONS: Member of parliament Žarko Ristić

This is an insult to every sincere believer, an insult also to Abbot Ephraim of the Vatopedi monastery, who arranged this for the Serbian people.

It is unacceptable that there is no answer from the Church and an announcement, after the appearance of the Commissioner of the Hilandar monastery Miloš Stojković, who, while guesting on a television with a national frequency, made claims that the belt appeared in Serbia after 640 years because of a 1,000,000 euro contribution from the family of Anđelko and Andrej Vučić. It is an insult to the church as well.

You insulted every believer who came with a sincere desire, sincere joy, or with sincere suffering, to receive the grace of God. The grace of God cannot be paid for or bought, that is presumably a generally known point.

MP CALLED ON THE CHURCH TO SPEAK OUT: Patriarch Porfirije

Do not allow the announced turnaround in the people, the transfiguration of the Serbian spirit, to be directed by the malicious statements of the Commissioner of the Hilandar monastery into something dishonorable and idolatry of someone’s contribution or someone’s money.

The Belt of the Mother of God was in Belgrade by the will of the Holy Spirit, and not by the will of some individual. ‘There is a Serbia before the holy belt and after the holy belt’ – said Abbot Ephraim of the Vatopedi monastery, and that is how it should remain,” member of parliament Žarko Ristić concludes his letter.
