GERMAN POLICE REMOVE ALBANIAN FLAGS: National symbols ordered removed at protest supporting KLA leaders! (VIDEO)

Protests in support of former KLA leaders were held in several German cities on Saturday, while particular attention was drawn to footage showing German police officers removing Albanian national flags and KLA symbols from demonstrators. The Reporteri portal published the footage, stating that such scenes were recorded during protests in Germany.

The gatherings were organized following the first-instance verdict against former KLA leaders before the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague. Support rallies were held, among other places, in Stuttgart, Cologne and Munich.

Demonstrators urged to bring flags and KLA symbols

In Stuttgart, the protest was organized under the slogan “Not in My Name,” while before the gathering, organizers called on members of the Albanian diaspora to bring national flags and KLA emblems and to come dressed in red and black. According to the organizers’ announcement, the gathering had been authorized by the city police.

After the protest, the situation in central Stuttgart required a larger police presence. According to an official statement from the Stuttgart Police Department, groups of up to 400 people formed between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., while vehicles carrying Albanian flags drove through the streets with their horns sounding. The use of pyrotechnics was also reported.

Police deployed several hundred officers, surrounded the groups and then released them in smaller groups. One person was arrested, while investigations were also launched over possible violations of regulations governing public gatherings and explosives.

Footage circulating on social media also shows police officers dealing with the displayed flags, while Reporteri states that both Albanian national flags and KLA flags were removed from demonstrators.
