Serbian athletics won two medals at the Mediterranean Games, as [Ivana Španović] and Aleksandrija Mitrović finished second and third in the triple jump.
Španović won the silver medal with her best jump of 14.09 meters. The experienced Serbian athlete managed to reach the podium, while Aleksandrija Mitrović won another medal for Serbia. She recorded her best result with a jump of 13.69 meters, which was enough for bronze.
The gold medal went to Italy’s Erika Giorgi A Saraceni, who recorded the best result of the competition. The Italian representative achieved 14.21 meters with her best attempt and thus finished the competition in first place.
For the Serbian team, this represents a very nice achievement, as the triple jump competition ended with two Serbian athletes on the podium. Španović confirmed her quality and experience on the big stage with her result, while Mitrović achieved a significant result with her bronze and brought Serbia another medal.
In the end, the Italian athlete won with 14.21, Španović finished second with 14.09, while Mitrović took third place with 13.69 meters.
