The organizer of the canceled [Dino Merlin] concert in Kraljevo, “Sonder Music,” issued an official statement claiming that the singer and his team knowingly committed fraud.

According to the statement delivered to the editorial office of “Kurir,” Merlin and his team knew from the very beginning that the concert in Kraljevo would not take place, but nevertheless received 100,000 euros in advance from the organizer, in cash.

We are publishing the “Sonder Music” statement in full.

“Dino Merlin, whose canceled concert in Kraljevo was scheduled for September 5, 2026, knowingly committed fraud against the organizer together with his team. Namely, although they knew after the concert at Koševo in Sarajevo that the concert in Kraljevo would not take place and that Dino Merlin’s band had canceled the performance in Kraljevo, aware of their actions, they continued negotiations. These negotiations were conducted on behalf of Dino Merlin by ‘Digi Media’ and manager Dada Bulat. They then signed a contract with the organizer and took 100,000 euros from him in cash, even though they did not honor the contract from the very first day it was signed, knowing that the concert would not take place. Whether this constitutes unlawful extortion of money from the organizer or fraud remains a question that will be addressed by the competent authorities in the coming period. What is actually the definitive truth is that ‘Digi Media’ and Dada Bulat knowingly committed fraud against the organizer,” the statement reads, continuing:

“In addition to failing from the very beginning to honor the part of the contract concerning the concert’s marketing, which they were required to do, they sabotaged every move made by the organizer. They took money for which they did not issue an invoice to the organizer, presumably with the intention of committing tax evasion, all through the fraud they committed against the concert organizer. Dada Bulat from Belgrade, Dino Merlin’s manager, admitted in a telephone conversation that she knew from the first day that the concert would not take place, but despite this, she continued to lead the organizers into further concert organization expenses.

The organizer distances itself from any responsibility for refunding money for purchased tickets, all for the reason that ‘Digi Media’ and Dino Merlin’s team are solely responsible for the refunds. The organizer, Sonder Music, announces a large number of criminal complaints and lawsuits against them because it has suffered significant material and non-material damage,” concludes the statement from “Sonder Music,” according to the aforementioned media outlet.

The other side has also spoken out

Commenting on the accusations against Digi Media Production, the aforementioned Dada Bulat said that she learned from the media that the concert in Kraljevo had been canceled.

“I learned from electronic media that the organizer of the concert, ‘Sounder Music,’ had made the decision to cancel it. The decision was made and published unilaterally, without prior notification to the other participants in the organization of the concert or consultation with them. The business cooperation agreement concluded between ‘Sounder Music’ and ‘Digi Media’ was never terminated, nor did ‘Digi Media’ participate in making the decision to cancel the concert. Given that ‘Sounder Music,’ as the organizer, independently made and published the decision to cancel the concert, it bears responsibility for that decision and the consequences arising from it. The amount of 100,000 euros was paid by the organizer as a guarantee for the successful holding of the concert. The issue of this guarantee, its purpose, as well as the subsequent handling of the aforementioned amount are specifically regulated by a separate agreement. It is the organizer’s obligation, as a consequence of the decision to cancel the concert, to ensure the timely refund of money to all ticket buyers,” Bulat told the aforementioned media outlet.

Let us recall, just six days before the concert in Kraljevo was supposed to take place, the organizers issued a statement announcing that it would nevertheless be canceled:

“Regarding Dino Merlin’s concert in Kraljevo, we inform the public that we are forced to make the decision to cancel it due to, as we state, the failure of the company ‘Digi Media Production d.o.o. Belgrade’ to fulfill its contractual obligations.

According to our claims, the company was responsible for providing the production, stage and all necessary technical conditions for holding the concert. From the very beginning of the organization, it was aware of the deadlines, technical requirements and all circumstances necessary for the event to be held. Despite this, the contractual obligations, in our view, were not fulfilled in a manner that would enable the concert to be held under conditions guaranteeing an appropriate level of technical and organizational safety. We reject attempts to shift responsibility for the situation that has arisen onto the organizer. We believe that we fulfilled our part of the obligations seriously and responsibly, but we cannot assume the risk of holding the event when the other contracting party has failed to fulfill what, according to our interpretation of the contract, it was obligated to provide,” they stated.
