More than several thousand citizens of Pale gathered last night at a public rally in Olympic Park to pay tribute to General Ratko Mladić.
Those gathered lit candles and flares, while during the rally they chanted General Mladić’s name and sang songs dedicated to him.

The gathering was marked by messages of support for General Mladić, with chants of “Ratko Mladić,” “Mladić, my problem is yours, because you are a Serbian hero,” as well as lyrics from the song “General, General, may your mother be thanked.”
In this way, citizens wanted to preserve the memory of General Mladić and pay tribute to him.
Residents of Novi Grad also lit candles last night near the central memorial to fallen soldiers of the Army of Republika Srpska for the repose of the soul of General Ratko Mladić, who died at the detention hospital in The Hague.

Those gathered are also signing the book of condolences, which was opened yesterday by the Novi Grad Veterans’ Organization.
General Ratko Mladić died on Thursday, August 27, at the detention hospital in The Hague at the age of 84.
