Serbian basketball player Nikola Topić played a great match in the NBA league. His team was indeed defeated in the clash with the Denver Nuggets, but the promising playmaker made the right use of the chance he was given. He scored 14 points (4/9 for two, 2/3 for three), recorded two rebounds, 11 assists, and four steals, and after the game, he spoke about his friendship with Nikola Jokić and Bogdan Bogdanović.
The three of them are national team teammates, and the young ace wants to learn as much as possible from his more experienced colleagues. As he said, Jokić, Bogdanović, and the others take care of him because he is the youngest, and he appreciates that very much.
“It’s great to see everyone, of course. We have a great relationship. We’ve known each other since before. Every summer we are together in the national team, so I know those guys well. It is truly a pleasure to be in their company and to know them,” Topić said after the match.
“There are not many Serbian players in the NBA league, so we have to stick together and that is exactly what we do. We take care of each other, and right now they take care of me because I am the youngest. But I hope that one day that will change,” Topić said.
Everyone remembers well how Jokić “scolded” Topić during a national team match when he failed to greet all his teammates upon leaving the game. That lesson, which he accepted in the right way, surely meant a lot to him on his path to the stars…
