The Higher Court in Belgrade, with a final decision, ordered Miša Bačulov to be detained for up to 30 days so that, as stated, he would not repeat the criminal offense in a short period of time, RTS learns.
The Higher Court in Belgrade upheld the appeal of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade and overturned the first-instance decision of the preliminary proceedings judge, which rejected the proposal for ordering Miša Bačulov’s detention, RTS learns.
As stated, with that final court decision, Bačulov was ordered to be detained for up to 30 days so that he would not repeat the criminal offense in a short period of time.
Previously, the preliminary proceedings judge of the Higher Court in Belgrade released Bačulov to defend himself while at liberty, even though he is charged with serious criminal offenses involving the preparation of a violent change of the constitutional order.
According to the prosecutor’s office statement, Bačulov is suspected because, with a doctor from Belgrade, at the end of October, he was arranging to allegedly be poisoned, for which they would blame the President of the Republic of Serbia and the current state authorities, which, in their opinion, would result in the massification of the protest that was scheduled for November 1 in Novi Sad, causing major riots, which would then lead to a coup d’état and a violent change of government in the Republic of Serbia.
He is also charged with coordinating the violence that took place that evening in front of the National Assembly building, where two public gatherings were held, one reported and one unreported, while hospitalized at the Clinical Center of Serbia on November 2, 2025, using the official mobile phone of KCS employees.
