Milan Trojanović, the Serbian Ambassador to Lebanon, has stated that the situation in the country remains unchanged since the beginning of the airstrikes and has appealed to all Serbian citizens to register with the embassy as soon as possible to facilitate the preparation of an evacuation list.

In an interview with TV Prva, Trojanović reported that bombings continue in southern Lebanon and that one of the targets was the Beirut-Damascus highway, near the Lebanese-Syrian border.

“Yesterday, the highway to Damascus was closed, and you could see cars with mattresses on the roof, full of children and women. This clearly shows that the situation is not good. However, a large part of Lebanon is not directly threatened by the bombings,” said Trojanović.

Lebanon, he added, is a developed country, and its healthcare system, despite a large number of wounded, is still functioning.

“There are state hospitals, hospitals run by various non-governmental organizations or political parties, if you will, and a large number of private hospitals. However, from the South to Beirut, and now I see it’s spreading to the north, there are so many wounded that most hospitals are overwhelmed,” said Trojanović, adding that schools have been closed because the state decided to turn them into centers for receiving these refugees from the south, which has a large number of them.
