Serbian tennis player Mia Ristić won the tournament in Cordenons, Italy, after defeating home player Nuria Brancaccio 2-0 in the final, by sets of 6-3, 6-3.

By triumphing over the tournament’s top seed, the 20-year-old Serbian claimed a new trophy and achieved the best ranking of her career so far.

Although she was up against the tournament favorite and the world No. 189, Mia Ristić dictated the pace from the very beginning. As the fourth seed, she played confidently and composedly, earning a deserved straight-sets victory after one hour and 39 minutes of play.

This title earned her 75 new WTA ranking points, bringing her total to 345 points. That allowed her to climb to No. 224 in the world rankings, marking the best result of her career so far.

Only 41 points now separate Mia Ristić from breaking into the world’s top 200. If she continues this kind of form, the young Serbian player could soon take that next step.
