POLICE PREVENT ESCAPE: Young man suspected of murder (22) in a garage in New Belgrade arrested!

A young man, L. Č. (22), has been arrested on suspicion of killing an elderly man in New Belgrade today.

“Members of the police in Belgrade, in cooperation with the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office, in a swift and efficient action, identified and arrested L.Č. (22) due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of aggravated murder,” it was announced.

He is suspected of inflicting multiple blows with a solid object to the head area of an eighty-nine-year-old man today around 12 PM on Jurija Gagarina Street, who died at the scene from the sustained injuries, after which the suspect fled.

The suspect L.Č. has been detained for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought before the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade along with a criminal complaint.
