Bourg basketball players won the EuroCup trophy for the 2025/26 season, thus securing a place in the EuroLeague.
Bourg defeated Beşiktaş in France with a score of 73:71, thus triumphing 2-0 in the final series. In the first match in Istanbul, it was a surprising 60:72.
The winning basket in the second match was scored by Adam Mokoka, whose drive brought great celebration to the French team. Beşiktaş failed to respond in the remaining second.
This was another quite tough and uncertain game, and Beşiktaş, led from the bench by Dušan Alimpijević, had no luck in the finish.
Bourg opened the match better and led 25:17 after the first quarter, although they previously had a double-digit lead. Beşiktaş returned in the second period, played significantly better, and achieved a turnaround at halftime – 38:40.

The third quarter was filled with misses and mistakes; we saw several lead changes, and in all the chaos, Bourg managed better, making one very important 7:0 run. At the end of the third period, Tyquan Rolon Agee hit a three-pointer for 55:52, but the drama was only just reaching its peak.
The French team maintained the lead mainly through Kevin Kokila and Adam Mokoka, reaching 65:58. Beşiktaş did not surrender and quickly reduced the gap through Jonah Mathews and Anthony Brown (68:66). Will McDowell-White hit a very important three-pointer, only for Brynton Lemar to reduce it to 71:68 from the free-throw line.
Bourg failed to score in two consecutive attacks, which Jonah Mathews punished with a three-pointer for the tie, also from a possession after an offensive rebound. However, Mokoka found a way to the basket when it was most needed for a big victory and the sensational success of Bourg, which was not among the main favorites for the title but reached it nonetheless.
The best in the winning team was Kokila with 18 points and six rebounds, while Mokoka gave 17 along with 10 rebounds. For Beşiktaş, Mathews scored 18 points, while Ante Žižić added 14 with eight rebounds, and Lemar stopped at 13.
