Students in Blockade have released a new pre-election video, officially inviting citizens to the major final rally of the “Students’ List – Students Are Winning.” The rally will take place on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Belgrade’s Slavija Square, under the slogan “Victory Is Calling.”

The rally will mark the official conclusion of the political movement’s months-long campaign ahead of the early parliamentary elections, scheduled for Sunday, October 25, in which the students are running as electoral list number 3.

Symbolism, cult films and a retrospective of two years of resistance

The new video is rich in powerful symbolism and direct references to the history of student struggles in Serbia. It opens with scenes from the cult film The Black Bomber and the words of Inspector Bešević, played by Petar Božović, about the student demonstrations of the 1990s. The dynamic footage concludes with another famous line from Serbian cinema, this time from the film The Sky Hook: “Do you know how you become a true champion? By stepping onto the court when things are toughest… and winning!”

The soundtrack also carries clear messages and local references. It features the song “Slavija” by Džej and Mina Kostić, Halid Bešlić’s lyrics “Autumn Is Inside Me…,” as well as familiar beats from earlier protests, including the electronic hit “Freed From Desire.”

Documentary footage from the largest student protests, blockades and street marches across Serbia runs throughout the video. In this way, the spot also serves as a retrospective of a struggle that has been ongoing for almost two years, dating back to the tragedy at the Novi Sad Railway Station in November 2024.

Final rally at the place where it all began

Representatives of “Students in Blockade” said they were symbolically bringing their campaign to a close where it all began. Slavija Square, which for months has been one of the main focal points of student resistance and blockades, was chosen as the place from which they will deliver their final message before the start of the pre-election silence period.

The rally on October 22 will be the final opportunity for the “Students’ List – Students Are Winning” to present its platform and call on voters to support it in the upcoming early elections on Sunday.
