Partizan basketball players lost 74-65 to Fenerbahçe in Istanbul in their sixth-round EuroLeague game. The black-and-whites made an excellent start and held the lead at halftime, but completely collapsed after the break, allowing the hosts to turn the game around and secure victory. Tyrique Jones’ injury is also a concern, as he remained in the locker room at halftime.

Joan Peñarroya’s team made a strong start and led 19-12 after the first 10 minutes. Partizan continued to protect their advantage throughout the second quarter and went into halftime leading 28-25.

However, the second half brought a completely different picture on the court. Fenerbahçe played much more aggressively, raised their defensive intensity, and began finding easy scoring opportunities. Early in the third quarter, the hosts went on a 10-2 run, took the lead for the first time, and seized control of the game.

Horton-Tucker was particularly impressive, causing major problems for the black-and-whites’ defense and scoring even when fouled. Fenerbahçe increased their lead minute by minute, taking a commanding 59-44 advantage into the final quarter.

Partizan attempted to fight their way back in the fourth quarter and managed to cut the deficit, but they did not have enough left to complete the comeback. The home team preserved its double-digit lead and eventually secured a 74-65 victory.

The situation involving Tyrique Jones was an additional concern for the black-and-whites, as he felt pain in his adductor area during the first half. Partizan’s center played just over three minutes, and the coaching staff chose not to take any risks, keeping him out for the remainder of the game.

Partizan have now suffered their third consecutive EuroLeague defeat after opening the season with three wins, while Fenerbahçe capitalized on an excellent second half to claim victory in front of their home fans.
