Jelena A. (39), who was struck by a car yesterday afternoon in Belgrade’s Vračar municipality while walking with her six-year-old daughter, is in critical condition at the Emergency Center, where doctors are fighting to save her.

The serious traffic accident occurred at around 4:35 p.m. at the intersection of Vojvode Dragomira and Sazonova streets.

According to Telegraf, the mother and child were hit by a Belgrade-registered Audi A3 driven by 21-year-old Luka N.

The force of the impact left the woman with extremely serious injuries, including fractures to both legs. An emergency medical team transported her in critical condition to the Emergency Center for further treatment and diagnostics.

Her six-year-old daughter, J. A. (6), fortunately escaped a fatal outcome but suffered bruises and contusions to her legs in the crash.

The scene investigation lasted several hours, and the prosecutor was notified. Traffic at the busy intersection was completely suspended while investigators carried out their work.

The investigation is ongoing and will determine all the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the speed at which the young driver was traveling when he struck the pedestrians.
