A 66-year-old Serbian citizen drove in the wrong direction on the ring road around Thessaloniki while under the influence of alcohol, colliding with a taxi that was traveling legally near the Konstantinopolitika area, according to the Greek portal Kathimerini.gr.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, and officers from the Thessaloniki Traffic Police responded to the scene, where they arrested the 66-year-old driver.

A breathalyzer test confirmed that the driver was over the legal alcohol limit, with two consecutive readings showing blood alcohol levels of 0.86 and 0.69 per mille.

The collision caused material damage to both vehicles, while the 66-year-old was taken to hospital as a precaution.
