GENERAL IN INCREASINGLY SERIOUS CONDITION: Dodik accused Hague of humiliating Mladic, family requests arrival of doctors!

SNSD leader Milorad Dodik stated that Ratko Mladic is exposed to what he claims is humiliating treatment in the Hague and that his state of health is very poor, recalling that the general recently suffered a stroke. Dodik stated that, according to his information, Mladic has not been provided with adequate medical therapy, and that such conditions call into question the principles of justice and humanity.

“Extremely humiliating circumstances have been applied there toward the Serbian general because they are not giving him adequate therapy,” Dodik said.

As an additional argument, he cited the case of Radoslav Brdjanin, who passed away after returning from the Hague, claiming that he was not provided with timely medical assistance.

“That is how they work with everyone there,” Dodik added.

He pointed out that the general’s health condition cannot withstand further legal processes and that insisting on them, as he believes, destroys the narrative of fairness of international institutions. Dodik recalled that he was a defense witness for Radovan Karadzic, as well as Mladic, emphasizing that he bears political consequences because of it. At the same time, he criticized opposition politicians, especially Mladen Bosic, for the lack of support in those processes.

He concluded that the historical role of General Mladic is yet to be evaluated, while current judicial processes, according to his view, do not reflect an objective and equal approach toward Serbian representatives.

Darko Mladic stated for Radio Republike Srpske that the state of health of Ratko Mladic is worsening day by day, emphasizing that the family is trying to ensure an adequate medical assessment. According to him, a team of doctors has already been formed and is waiting for approval to travel to the Hague and perform an examination, but for that, it is necessary that the complete medical documentation be delivered to them beforehand. Mladic has been in the detention clinic for two years, which, according to his son, does not have the conditions of a classic hospital, which is why help from Serbia was requested to pressure the competent institutions to speed up the procedure and enable the arrival of the medical team. The family expects that the documentation will be delivered soon, which would be a key step for further assessment of the general’s health condition.
