Members of the Serbian Armed Forces won first place in the overall team standings at a military shooting competition held from September 17 to 20 at Camp Perry in the United States, organized by the Ohio National Guard.

The 72nd Special Operations Brigade, the 63rd Parachute Brigade and the “Cobras” Special Purpose Military Police Detachment represented our military and country.

In addition to winning first place in the overall team standings, based on the combined results in rifle and pistol shooting, members of the Serbian Armed Forces also won first place in the team competition in the combat pistol shooting discipline.

First Class Sergeant Dušan Adamović of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade was named the best individual competitor, or the overall winner of the competition.

Adamović was also the most successful competitor in the individual combat pistol shooting discipline, in which another member of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade took second place.

This multi-day competition, held every year in Ohio, brings together soldiers and non-commissioned officers with the aim of improving shooting skills necessary for carrying out combat missions, as well as proficiency in handling weapons and teamwork.

The Serbian Armed Forces have maintained successful cooperation with the Ohio National Guard for two decades במסגרת the Serbia-Ohio State Partnership Program. Participation in competitions such as this is one of numerous joint activities aimed at improving the capabilities of the armed forces, strengthening mutual trust and contributing to the development of overall relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United States.
