One of Europe’s most wanted criminals, Ali Namdar (21), has been arrested in Morocco. The Swedish national is accused of a total of 18 criminal offenses, including attempted murder.

Ali Namdar, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant, was arrested in Tangier.

According to Switzerland’s Blick, he is also suspected of recruiting children to carry out criminal acts. Among other things, he allegedly recruited a 12-year-old girl to plant two live hand grenades.

Linked to the Foxtrot criminal network

Ali Namdar is suspected of being a member of the Foxtrot criminal network, a Swedish criminal syndicate that also operates outside the country’s borders and is believed to have close ties to Iran.

The network emerged in Stockholm in the late 2010s and is now considered one of the groups linked to the escalation of gang warfare in Sweden and other parts of Europe.

According to Blick, Foxtrot has been linked to around 35 murders across Europe. Members of the criminal network are, among other things, suspected of ordering killings involving firearms.

The arrested man’s lawyer denies all allegations against his client.

Sweden is meanwhile preparing a request for Ali N.’s extradition from Morocco.

Prosecutor Helene Gestrin explained to Swedish television SVT what the next steps in the proceedings will look like.

“The necessary documentation will be sent to Morocco, and then we will wait for the Moroccan authorities to process it. Based on experience, this can take several months,” Gestrin said.
