Firefighters from Boljevac and Zaječar are taking part in efforts to extinguish a fire that broke out on Mount Rtanj this afternoon.
As “Blic” reports, the fire broke out in extremely inaccessible terrain, but no buildings are currently threatened.
The flames can be seen from a great distance, while there is still no official information about the area affected.
For now, photographs are being shared on social media.
According to local residents, if the fire crosses the so-called “ridge,” the most beautiful part of the coniferous forest will burn down.
The locals are hoping that helicopters will be deployed, which can collect water from nearby Lake Vrmdža.
