His post was shared by former diplomat and President of the International Advisory Board of the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCBP) Srđan Cvijić, who added that the date of the visit has yet to be determined.
It should be recalled that Nova.rs previously learned that the plan was for the European Commission president to visit Serbia in October as part of her tour of the Western Balkans.
However, shortly afterward, around 120 professors and researchers from Serbia’s academic community (118 of them) sent an open letter to Ursula von der Leyen ahead of her possible arrival in Serbia.
It was then confirmed that the Western Balkans tour would take place, but without confirmation that she would also come to Belgrade.
At the same time, the European Commission president said that she had been “horrified by the scenes from Ratko Mladić’s funeral.”
