Zadar police confirmed today that former Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) councilor Milan Drača was the man who died in hospital overnight from severe injuries sustained in a fight.
Police in Zadar received a report of a fight between two men at 11:44 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found an injured 51-year-old man lying on the ground, according to Index.hr.
He was transported by ambulance to Zadar General Hospital, where he died during the night. The other man involved in the incident was taken into police custody.

Milan Drača, born in 1975 and known by the nickname Lalo, was a well-known figure in Zadar and a versatile individual active in both political and social life within the local community.
In public, he often emphasized his unique identity. He declared himself ethnically Serbian, but was also a longtime member of the HDZ and a volunteer veteran of the Croatian War of Independence.
He entered the Zadar City Council as a representative of the Serbian national minority on the HDZ list. He later left the party, publicly criticizing certain political processes.
