Serbian athletes continue to achieve fantastic results at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, where our country’s medal tally is steadily increasing.

The most rewarding moment of the day was delivered by kayakers Strahinja Dragosavljević and Veljko Vještica. The Serbian duo dominated the competition in the K2 500-meter event, rowing what was undoubtedly the race of their lives and winning the gold medal for Serbia.

In addition to the gold, the successes on the water were joined by bronze medals:

Žofi Horvat paddled her way to bronze in the K1 500-meter event.

Žarko Jakovljević won the bronze medal in the K1 1,000-meter event.

The string of good news began last night, when Žarko Krajišnik won the first medal for our national team, taking bronze in taekwondo.
