-In the morning hours (31.07.2025), on the Athens-Evzoni highway, a car driven by a Greek citizen collided with a car driven by a 22-year-old foreign citizen, which resulted in serious injuries to the driver of the other vehicle, who was transported to the hospital, where he died at noon – the Greek police stated in a press release.

Two ambulances arrived at the scene of the accident immediately, as well as two fire trucks with six firefighters who pulled the seriously injured young man from the crushed car. He was intubated and transported to a hospital in Thessaloniki, but, despite the efforts of doctors, he succumbed to his injuries shortly before noon.

The traffic police redirected vehicles, and a part of the highway in the direction of Evzoni was closed for a long period of time.

The traffic police department of the Thessaloniki highway is conducting an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of this accident.

By the way, this is the second traffic accident on this section of the highway in Greece. Namely, a little before the collision in which the young Serb died, an accident occurred in which a 63-year-old woman lost her life, while her passenger, also a 60-year-old woman, was injured. As we wrote earlier, the collision happened due to unexplained circumstances, and one of the participants in that accident was a car with Serbian license plates.

It is still unknown whether the deceased woman was in the car with Serbian license plates.
