“We have no leaders or individuals who stand above the community or speak in our name. Students speak and represent us in our name,” the Students in Blockade of the University of Belgrade announced via X.
They emphasized that their action is “independent, thoughtful, and responsible.”
“We thank our professors, the University of Belgrade, as well as the rector for their firm support in our struggle,” the students stated.
They noted that for more than a year they have stood “united and equal in defense of university autonomy and the integrity of the academic community.”

“The University of Belgrade continuously proves that it is a community worthy of the historical moment in which it finds itself and continues to build the future of Serbia by protecting its youth,” the academics stated and declared:
“Students are winning!”.
As a reminder, the rector of the University of Belgrade, Vladan Djokic, yesterday rejected allegations that he is a representative of the students, but stated that he “stands firmly with them.”
