SERBIA ARE CHAMPIONS IN MOSCOW: Our national team wins gold in sitting volleyball!

The Serbian sitting volleyball national team won first place at the inaugural “VNUKOVO 2026” International Tournament, held in Moscow from September 7 to 12 at the invitation of the Russian Paralympic Committee.

In addition to Serbia and hosts Russia, the tournament featured the national teams of Indonesia, Rwanda, Afghanistan and Myanmar.

The Serbian national team finished the group stage in second place, with one win and one loss, and then played an outstanding match against Russia in the semi-final.

Serbia won 2-0, taking the sets 25-20, 25-15, securing a place in the final.

Another excellent performance by the Serbian national team followed in the fight for gold. In the final against Myanmar, Serbia were dominant and won 2-0, taking the sets 25-19, 25-20, securing first place and the gold medal.

Dragiša Zorić also received a major individual honor, being named the tournament’s best attacker.

To conclude the competition, the Serbian national team was also presented with a plaque from the President of the Russian Paralympic Committee, Pavel Rozhkov.

The gold medal in Moscow marked which was awarded to the Serbian national team players following their excellent performances in the latter stages of the tournament.
