SCANDAL ROCKS THE SAN FRANCISCO TEAM: Team owner pleads guilty to prostitution-related charges, here’s how much he has to pay!

San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York pleaded no contest on Monday to two misdemeanor charges after he was arrested in Ohio on suspicion of participating in prostitution.

According to court records from Columbiana County, Ohio, East Palestine police arrested York on Sunday on a charge described as “participating in prostitution.” After York pleaded no contest, the charge was amended to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct offense, with an additional misdemeanor charge for possession of items used in the commission of a crime.

The circumstances surrounding York’s arrest on Monday afternoon were still unclear. A police report from East Palestine, obtained by ESPN, states only that York was arrested Sunday at 9:35 a.m. at the Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community, on the southern end of the city.

The description of the incident in the police report consists of just one sentence, stating that officers were assisting the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force during York’s arrest. The task force had not released a report on the incident or additional information about the case by early Monday afternoon.

Court documents state that the local prosecutor filed a plea agreement Monday morning after York pleaded no contest and paid a total of $1,150 in fines — $150 for disorderly conduct and $1,000 for possession of items used in the commission of a crime.

York was also sentenced to one day in jail for each of the two charges, with one day already credited as time served.

The NFL said in a statement that it was “aware of the matter, which will be reviewed in accordance with the personal conduct policy.”

Columbiana County Prosecutor Vito Abruzzino told ESPN via email that he also could not provide additional details about York’s case, other than confirming that the charges were reduced as part of the plea agreement.

“This is the standard procedure for a person facing that type of charge in our area who has no prior history of this type of criminal behavior,” Abruzzino wrote.

York has been the majority owner of the San Francisco 49ers since 2024, while he has served as the team’s CEO since 2008. He is originally from Youngstown, Ohio.
