The regular session of the Assembly of the Serbian Orthodox Church began with the hierarchal liturgy in the Temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade, served by the Serbian Patriarch Porfirije.
The regular session of the Assembly of the Serbian Orthodox Church began with the hierarchal liturgy in the Temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade, presided over by the Serbian Patriarch Porfirije.
The Assembly is attended by the bishops of the SOC from all over the world.
The formal beginning of the Assembly will be marked by the traditional “invocation of the Holy Spirit” after the liturgy.
The working part of the highest hierarchical, church-legislative, and church-judicial body of the SOC, under the presidency of Patriarch Porfirije and with the participation of the hierarchs, will begin tomorrow in the crypt of the Memorial Temple of Saint Sava in Vračar.
According to the procedure determined by the Rules of Procedure, the session begins with the adoption of the agenda consisting of received items submitted by the Holy Synod of Bishops.
The session will continue with the consideration of reports on the work of all diocesan hierarchs, central church bodies, organs, and institutes.
