U.S. President Donald Trump shared a post by Richard Grenell featuring a banner displayed by Serbian fans during the UFC event in Belgrade, bearing the name of the American president.

“President Trump, Serbia welcomes you,” the banner read.

“At the UFC event in Serbia, the crowd reacted enthusiastically when a banner bearing Donald Trump’s name was unveiled,” Richard Grenell wrote in his post, which Trump later shared.

Trump’s Longstanding Ties With the UFC

As a reminder, Trump has maintained a long-standing and close relationship with the UFC, primarily through his friendship with its president, Dana White.

He supported the UFC during one of the organization’s most difficult periods. In the early 2000s, when many U.S. states were banning UFC events, Trump allowed the promotion to hold events at his major properties.
