The girl who died in a serious traffic accident in Montenegro, during which 16 people sustained injuries, is a resident of the Niš village of Vrtište, Jovana S. (21). The news that Jovana died in Montenegro saddened the residents of this Niš village.

There was no one in her family home today, and according to the testimony of neighbors, the mother of the deceased girl went to Montenegro while her grandfather and grandmother were also absent.

“Jovana graduated from the secondary school ‘February 12’ in Niš. She got a job in a betting shop in the city, she was in a long relationship, they were announcing an engagement. She went to the seaside with her younger sister, they were supposed to return home now, but there you go, an evil fate befell them,” says one resident of Vrtište.

As they further say, they were very affected by the circumstances of her death.

“What kind of justice is that, she probably prayed, lit a candle, not suspecting what awaited her. Destiny, or whatever it is, they say the driver was tired. Well, maybe his boss forced him to drive in such a state, we cannot condemn anyone in advance. It is sad that Jovana paid for it with her life,” concludes a neighbor of the deceased girl.

As a reminder, in the accident that happened yesterday near Risan in Montenegro, on the Kotor-Nikšić road, when a van ran off the road, Jovana died, and 16 people were injured.

As announced by the Montenegrin police, the traffic accident occurred when a minibus, moving from the direction of Nikšić, “made contact with a stone slope located right next to the road, on the right side of the roadway, as a result of which the vehicle overturned.”

The driver is a 68-year-old man from Kotor.

Condition of the injured

Doctor Milan Ivanović from the Special Hospital for Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and Neurology “Vaso Ćuković” in Risan said today for “Jutro na Blic” that all injured passengers, who are being cared for in that health institution, are in a stable general condition and that none of them are in life-threatening danger.

As he stated, all patients spent a peaceful night, and some will be discharged for home treatment during the day.

A number of the injured will remain in hospital treatment until the complete stabilization of their health condition and the creation of conditions for safe transport to Serbia.

According to his words, the most common injuries patients sustained are fractures, cuts, and head contusions, i.e., lacero-contusive wounds, as well as contusions and lacerations of the torso. He pointed out that none of those hospitalized are in life-threatening danger.

He also added that the health condition of the eight-year-old boy, who was transferred to the Clinical Center of Montenegro in Podgorica after the accident, has been more stable since this morning than it was during transport.
