The President of the SNSD, Milorad Dodik, stated today that today’s celebration of the anniversary of the canonization of the Holy and Blessed Anne, mother of Saint Basil of Ostrog, in the Mrkonjići Monastery near Trebinje, is important for Herzegovina, Republika Srpska, and all of Orthodoxy.

“This was owed to our people and Orthodoxy. It is always beautiful when such events are held in Herzegovina, because it has the most beautiful resonance here,” Dodik told reporters at the Mrkonjići Monastery, where he attended the liturgy.

He reminded that the authorities of Srpska, together with the Government of Serbia and the city of Trebinje, invested funds for the construction of the Spiritual Center in Mrkonjići.

“Work on this capital facility is not yet finished, and we also intend to expand it,” said Dodik.

He added that the Spiritual Center was built in record time, in less than a year and a half.

“We leave this to the generations who will come here with the intention of visiting this holy place, but also to those friends who respect the tradition and faith of a people,” Dodik said.

He thanked the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who from the beginning took an interest in the idea to arrange this place and gave an indubitable contribution to it.

“By the end of the week, I will meet with him and I will be glad to have the opportunity to inform him that we have completed another important project for our people,” concluded Dodik, Srna reports.
