There are 44 active open-field fires in Serbia. The fire on Suva Planina*** has not yet been extinguished, and a forested area on the side belonging to the municipality of Bela Palanka is being defended from the flames. A state of emergency has been declared in part of the Niška Banja municipality.***

Fires continue to rage across Serbia. Due to the extremely inaccessible terrain on Suva Planina, ground operations are limited, so the fire is being fought from the air by helicopters belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian “Ilyushin” aircraft.

Populated areas are not under threat.

A state of emergency has been declared in the municipality of Niška Banja.

Heavy machinery has arrived at Bojanine Vode, where work is underway to widen the forest road from Bojanine Vode toward Mosar to 10 to 15 meters, in order to create a defensive line toward the territory of the village of Gornja Studena.

Strong winds have caused the fire to flare up in places in Deliblato Sands near the Šušarački Road, while the fire near Majdanpek, in the territory of the village of Rudna Glava and near the settlement of Golubinje, has been brought under control.
