I don’t quite understand the Serbs who, on both sides of the Drina, gloat over the verdict against Dodik, not realizing that, whether they like or dislike Milo, it is also a verdict against an entire people.
I’m not just referring to the Serbian people, although it might seem that way to the naive, but also to the other two constituent peoples of BiH, Bosniaks and Croats, who, with this decision, have all been effectively reduced to African tribes from the beginning of the 20th century, before the start of the fight against colonialism.
Because High Representative Schmidt, whose name fits perfectly into that Nazi-colonial framework (perhaps only Kriger would fit better), is nothing more than a sheriff who takes the right to make laws outside the Constitution and Dayton, judges, passes verdicts, and determines who in Bosnia, once proud, is allowed to engage in politics and who is not.
To those Bosniaks and Croats who may have naively rejoiced that this puts them in a privileged position, let me just present a scenario that could very easily occur shortly…
Imagine now that, in line with the development of the situation in the global context, for the next High Representative, along Trump’s lines, comes some American from Texas, a real sheriff, not this German fake, who will do the opposite of what his predecessors, from Ashdown onwards, did…
So, start an open war with the elected representatives of Bosniaks and Croats in the government, judge them, remove them, slap them with fines and slaps…
And the best thing is, this scenario could very easily happen, not to mention that after that American vote in the UN against Ukraine and for Russia, in world politics – anything is possible!
And what will we do then?
What will all those who are now gloating over Dodik’s fate do when they come for them, and there will be no one to raise their voice? If not out of love and because of national affiliation, then out of principle.
For every normal Serb, Bosniak, and Croat, without a genetically innate subservient/slave mentality, this situation is unsustainable and must be changed urgently.
Bosnia and Herzegovina must break the chains and yoke and stop being the last colony on the planet, whose majority of problems stem precisely from that colonial status, which does not allow any of the three peoples to articulate their interests.
And it’s people must, without tutors and governors, find a common interest and path, not as informers of a Higher Power, but as creators of their destiny, free and dignified.
