Today, we can expect another sunny and very warm day, with temperatures ranging from 33 to 36 degrees Celsius, but meteorologists are already forecasting a change in weather this afternoon and evening, as well as a long-awaited cooldown, according to the RHMZ.***
During most of the day, light to moderate easterly and southeasterly winds will blow, while stronger gusts are expected in the Košava area. However, in the afternoon, local cloud development will occur in the north, west and southwest of Serbia, which may bring brief rain or summer showers accompanied by thunderstorms.
Night brings a drop in temperature
The real change in weather will arrive toward the end of the day in Vojvodina, while during the night leading into Tuesday, it will spread to the western and central parts of Serbia as well. Heavier cloud cover with rain and showers is expected, accompanied by strengthening northwesterly winds and a noticeable drop in temperature.
Due to these weather conditions, Tuesday (August 18) will be considerably cooler and partly cloudy. Residents in the north and west of the country can expect dry weather with sunny intervals, while other areas will see occasional rain and local showers. The good news is that the precipitation is expected to stop by midday and during the afternoon, followed by gradual clearing.
Tropical days return from Wednesday, along with an important warning
The break from the heat will be short-lived, as predominantly sunny weather and another rise in temperatures are expected starting Wednesday (August 19).
Authorities warn that high temperatures, accompanied by a serious lack of rainfall in the coming period, will create a high risk of wildfires breaking out and spreading rapidly in open areas. In addition to the danger of fires, such extreme weather conditions will have an adverse impact on public health, as well as critical infrastructure, traffic, agriculture, livestock farming and tourism. Citizens are advised to exercise caution and follow the instructions of the relevant authorities.
