HEROIC ACTION ON HALKIDIKI: 12-year-old boy from Serbia pulled unconscious from the sea, Greek rescuers brought him back to life!

Thanks to the teamwork of rescuers, volunteers, and emergency medical teams (EKAB), a boy from Serbia who was drowning in the sea on Halkidiki avoided the worst possible outcome.

The quick intervention of lifeguards on the beach in Hanioti proved crucial, as the 12-year-old boy was pulled from the sea unconscious. Thanks to the joint efforts of rescuers, volunteers, and members of the Greek Emergency Medical Service (EKAB), the child managed to avoid the most serious consequences, Voria.gr reported.

The first to respond at the scene were rescuers Sofia and Antonis from the Bay Line company, who quickly pulled the boy out of the sea and immediately began providing first aid and administering oxygen, successfully stabilizing his condition.

Volunteer lifeguard Giannis Kolokitas also joined the rescue operation, providing additional assistance on the ground as the first responder for emergency intervention. A few minutes later, an emergency response motorcycle and a Greek Emergency Medical Service (EKAB) team arrived, taking over care of the 12-year-old, fully stabilizing him, and first transporting him to the Health Center in Kassandria, and then to a hospital in Thessaloniki for further treatment.

The relevant services and the organization “Kids Save Lives – Children Save Lives” pointed out that this is already the third child rescued in the Kassandra area in just one week. On that occasion, a serious appeal and strong recommendation were issued to parents not to leave children without supervision even for a moment, in order to prevent similar tragic accidents and drowning cases on beaches.

Regarding the mentioned case, Giannis Kolokitas spoke about it on the social network Facebook.

“A miracle on the beach in Hanioti today at 11:00 a.m.! This time, the adorable 12-year-old boy literally escaped with his life, thanks to flawless teamwork that had the best possible outcome and brought great joy to everyone,” Giannis wrote, adding:

“Thanks to the extremely quick response during the rescue of the child from the sea, two excellent rescuers from the Bay Line company managed to resuscitate and stabilize the 12-year-old. Before that, a call was made to emergency services (EKAB), which reacted quickly, sending both an emergency response motorcycle and an ambulance vehicle for his transport.”

He then expressed his happiness that everything turned out well.

“I was involved in this intervention from the very beginning as well. Everything went smoothly in an excellent atmosphere and with outstanding teamwork, and my joy over the successful outcome cannot be described. Friends, this is what I love, this is what I am dedicated to, and this is what I will continue doing as long as I can and have the strength,” he wrote.
