A protest by citizens in front of the Higher Court in Čačak ended last night after all six civic activists who had been summoned for an informational interview with the police and questioned in court gave statements regarding the disruption of singer Ana Bekuta’s concert on the city square in Čačak on Wednesday evening.
During the day and evening, the police summoned six civic activists for informational interviews on suspicion that they threw snowballs at Bekuta during her concert, which was organized by the city authorities on the evening of January 13 to mark the celebration of the New Year according to the Julian calendar.
The police identified 11 individuals from Čačak in connection with the disruption of Bekuta’s concert.
Several hundred citizens protested on Tuesday evening in Čačak and disrupted Bekuta’s concert because the city authorities allocated 4.5 million dinars, including VAT, for the concert.
Before Bekuta, the local cultural and artistic society “Abrašević” also performed at the concert, but that performance was not disrupted by the demonstrators.
