In a tragedy unlike any in North Macedonia’s history, at least 50 young people lost their lives last night at a concert in a nightclub in Kočani, which was attended by 1,500 people, according to the latest reports.
Following orders from the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučić, the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces have urgently deployed 14 doctors and medical personnel along with five ambulances to provide assistance to those injured in the Kočani disaster, the Ministry of Defense announced.
“A portion of the injured citizens of North Macedonia will be treated at the Military Hospital in Niš, while those requiring more intensive medical care will be transported to the Military Medical Academy (VMA) in Belgrade. Additional medical and logistical assistance has also been offered to the authorities of the neighboring country for the care of the injured,” the statement said.
Defense Minister Bratislav Gašić, who previously expressed his condolences over the tragedy in Kočani, stated that Serbian military medical personnel will do everything possible to assist the injured.
“The least we can do in this situation is to help our brotherly Macedonian people and care for the young people who found themselves in this horror. Our military doctors will do absolutely everything to preserve their health and return them to their families as soon as possible, fully recovered,” said Minister Gašić.
