A court*** in the United States today prevented the Kennedy Center from restoring the name of current U.S. President Donald Trump to its title, after which the Kennedy Center’s Board of Trustees voted to suspend all activities due to financial problems and the dispute over the display of Trump’s name.***

“Simply put, the defendants cannot put up signage dedicated to President Trump, or to anyone or anything else, at the Kennedy Center without congressional approval,” the ruling states.

In August, the Kennedy Center’s Board of Trustees voted to have Trump’s name displayed on the building’s facade, so that the inscription would read: “John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts – Restored and Renovated through the efforts of President Donald J. Trump.”

The board’s decision also provided for the plaza in front of the Kennedy Center to be renamed in honor of Donald Trump.

The Kennedy Center’s Board of Trustees today voted to suspend all activities due to financial problems and the dispute over displaying President Donald Trump’s name on the iconic Washington venue dedicated to the performing arts, the Associated Press reported, citing its sources.

Trump and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick participated in the board meeting, a source told the U.S. agency.

Before today’s board meeting, a federal judge definitively barred the addition of Trump’s name to the Kennedy Center.
