What a performance by Nikola Jokić. He is an unstoppable force and has now tied an NBA record.
Nikola Jokić scored 21 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists, tying the NBA record with his fourth consecutive triple-double to start the season, as the Denver Nuggets routed the New Orleans Pelicans 122–88 on Wednesday night.
Jokić shot 10 of 15 from the field and played 28 minutes. He sat out the entire fourth quarter after the Nuggets went on a 24–0 run in the third quarter to build a 33-point lead. He decided to rest, and coach Adelman had the same idea.
Jamal Murray and Christian Braun each scored 17 points for Denver, which recorded its third straight victory after losing the season opener to Golden State.
After missing Monday’s game against Boston due to a bruise on his left foot, Zion Williamson scored 11 points. In his first two games of the season for New Orleans, he had scored 27 points each.
Rookie Jeremiah Fears led the Pelicans with a career-high 21 points. New Orleans shot just 37.2% from the field, 20.6% (7 of 34) from three-point range, and a disappointing 58.6% (17 of 29) from the free-throw line, falling to a 0–4 record for the first time since the 2019/2020 season.
