Today marks eight months since the canopy collapse in Novi Sad.
The Citizens’ Assemblies of Novi Sad, in their call for this commemorative gathering, stated that July 1 marks 243 days of silence regarding the deaths of 16 citizens.
“They are silent before us, silent before the law, silent before the world. Though not for long, they will be deafened by our noise,” the assemblies declared.
Citizens gathered in front of the railway station to pay their respects to the victims. Following the tribute, they proceeded to block the intersection near Lutrija Vojvodine, specifically the intersection of Bulevar Oslobođenja and Kralja Petra I.
