Ukraine closed its parliament today for security reasons, one day after a Russian attack with a new hypersonic ballistic missile on a military facility in the city of Dnipro.

“A session of the Verkhovna Rada was scheduled for November 22, during which issues regarding the government were to be discussed, but it was canceled due to potential security concerns, reported the Ukrainian public media service Suspilne.”

The British newspaper The Independent reports that Ukrainian lawmakers were asked to move their families from parts of Kyiv where government institutions are located, and the next parliamentary session is not planned before December.

This morning, information about multiple explosions in Kyiv began circulating on social media.

Ukrainian agency TSN reported that detonations were registered in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy regions.

Bulgarian website Fakti reports that an air danger alert was declared in Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions.

At least four explosions were heard in the city of Sumy.

Kyiv Independent reports local authorities as saying that in last night’s Russian drone attack on the city, two people were killed, and 12 others were injured.

Rescue teams were sent to the site of the attack, and the operation to extract people from the rubble continued through the morning.

The military administration of Sumy region did not provide details about the attack.

The city of Sumy was also the target of a major Russian assault on November 18, when 11 people were killed and 89 were injured, including 11 children, after a ballistic missile hit a residential building.

The Ukrainian Sumy region borders the Russian regions of Bryansk, Kursk, and Belgorod, and its residents face daily attacks.

Russia is closing parts of its airspace today and tomorrow for missile testing.

This was announced last night by Kyiv Post on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, citing Russian media.

It was also reported that a similar notice was issued when Russia launched a ballistic missile “Oreshnik” at the Ukrainian city of Dnipro yesterday.

Sky News reports that at 8:25 AM local time, the authorities of St. Petersburg announced that flights at the “Pulkovo” international airport in the Russian president Vladimir Putin’s hometown had been temporarily suspended.
