The waiter of the restaurant “27” where Aleksandar Neshovic was killed was arrested on Sunday, and as the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office states, he decided to defend himself with silence during the hearing. The prosecution requested detention.
In the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, Petar U. (20) was questioned due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that, together with other suspect individuals, in the proceedings being conducted regarding the commission of the criminal offense of Aggravated Murder on May 12, 2026, in the restaurant “27”, he participated in actions aimed at covering up the criminal offense of Aggravated Murder and the perpetrators, according to the statement of the VJT.
The suspect defended himself with silence during the hearing, that is, he used his legal right not to present a defense.

After the hearing, the prosecution proposed to the judge for preliminary proceedings of the Higher Court in Belgrade to order detention for the suspect so that he would not influence witnesses and would not repeat the criminal offense in a short period of time, the statement says.
Petar U. is charged with the criminal offenses of Failure to report a criminal offense and a perpetrator and Assisting a perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense.
