AMMAR MEŠIĆ ON LIFE AFTER “IGRA SUDBINE”: “I Was Fired Because I Didn’t Support Vučić, Now I’m Waiting to Start a Job at a Supermarket”!

Actor Ammar Mešić, best known for his role in the TV series Igra sudbine (Game of Destiny), addressed his followers on TikTok, sharing details about the past three years of his life—a period during which, he said, he faced numerous professional and personal challenges.

At the beginning of his post, Mešić explained that he does not use TikTok very often, but wanted to speak to the public after his Instagram account, which had more than 150,000 followers, was deleted. The actor also spoke about the period after he publicly supported the student protests, as well as what he is doing today after no longer actively working as an actor.

According to Mešić, he worked on Igra sudbine until 2023, when he was fired, as he claims, because of his political views and support for the protests.

“Until 2023, I was doing my job, filming the series Igra sudbine, and in 2023 I was fired because of the protest that was then called One of Five Million. More precisely, I was fired because I supported the protests and did not support the president, the prime minister, the minister of health, the minister of defense of Serbia—Aleksandar Vučić,” Mešić said in the video.

After that, he said, his life took a completely different direction. A few months later, he moved to Vienna, where he worked construction jobs for three months.

“I worked on construction sites for three months, off the books. Somehow I had to survive, and I experienced that entire period as a kind of mental cleansing. It gave me additional strength and motivated me to continue working and supporting what I believe is right,” the actor said.

After his stay in Austria, Mešić landed a role in the Croatian TV series U dobru i zlu (For Better or Worse), prompting him to move to Zagreb. During that period, he also worked in Slovenia, where he was cast in the series Nemirna krv (Restless Blood), his first role performed in the Slovenian language. He also worked as the host of the television show Survivor.

However, he said he decided to remain in Zagreb and is currently waiting for his paperwork to be finalized before starting work as a supermarket sales assistant.

“I decided to stay in Croatia, in Zagreb, and now I’m waiting for my documents because I’m about to start working in a supermarket as a sales assistant, because you have to live, work, and earn a living somehow,” Mešić said.

The actor also commented on the deletion of his Instagram account, saying he had been informed that it had been reported by more than 10,000 fake accounts.

“A lot has happened over the past few months, but one of the biggest things is that my Instagram account, which had around 150,000 followers, was deleted. I received confirmation that it was reported by more than 10,000 fake accounts from Serbia, Dubai, the so-called state of Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and elsewhere,” he said.

Mešić added that he hopes the account will be restored, thanks to people who have tried to help him by contacting the platform.

In the same post, he also referred to another issue connected to his hometown of Prijepolje. According to him, a short section of the street where he lives remains unpaved, while the rest of the street has been fully resurfaced.

“A lot is happening, but what I can say is that I’m not giving up, and neither should you. I’m glad there are so many of us, and I hope that everything you do and everything I do—we do with a pure heart and a clear conscience, and I believe it will all pay off,” Mešić said.

His post sparked numerous reactions on social media, particularly because of his candid account of the changes he has gone through—from television fame and acting engagements to a period in which he had to find other ways to make a living.
