DUE TO THE DROWNING OF A 5-YEAR-OLD BOY IN A POOL: Director of the aqua park in Smederevo arrested, two more people detained!

By order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Smederevo, in cooperation with the Police Department in Smederevo, three people were arrested on suspicion that they failed to act according to regulations and rules on protection measures, as a result of which a child drowned in the pool of the aqua park in Smederevo.

After inspections were carried out and the factual situation was established in the pre-investigation procedure, M.Đ. from Smederevo, director of the company operating the aforementioned aqua park, D.Đ., head of general affairs, as well as B.R. from Smederevo, who worked as a lifeguard, were deprived of liberty.

The suspects are charged with one count each of the criminal offense of Serious Offense Against General Safety under Article 288, Paragraph 2, in connection with Article 278, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code.

By order of the prosecution, they were remanded in custody for up to 48 hours, within which time they will be brought for questioning to the premises of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Smederevo.
