The Croatian police announced that a man has been arrested who is suspected of murdering a 19-year-old pizza delivery driver in the town of Drnis. Strong police forces in the wider Drnis area had been intensively searching for 50-year-old K. A. since Saturday evening.

The crime occurred on Saturday around 11 p.m. on the terrace of K. A.’s family home, and the town has been under police siege since then, RTS reports.

Due to the search, all entrances and exits from the town were closed, and citizens were called upon not to leave their homes and to lower the blinds on their windows.

Nikola Milina, director of the Croatian police, said earlier that fifty-year-old K. A. committed the crime with a handmade firearm.

Milina said that the suspect has a larger criminal record, as well as five final convictions, two of which, for the murder of a girl (22), were merged into a prison sentence of 15 years which he served, while two were probation.

He added that three years ago, the police found illegal weapons at Aleksic’s place and that a criminal complaint was filed because of that, after which an indictment was raised under which the court proceedings have not begun to this day.
