Associations of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohije today supported the “Memorandum on Kosovo and Metohija” published by the students in blockade, in which the southern province is defined as an “inalienable and integral part of Serbia”.
In the statement, they supported the students’ insistence on resolving the issue of Kosovo and Metohija exclusively within the framework of the Constitution of Serbia and international law, the “rejection of the policy of imposed and unilateral solutions”, as well as their call for social dialogue, institutional renewal, and the inclusion of youth in decision-making processes.
“We believe that precisely the students today represent a new reform and moral force of Serbia. In a time when society is burdened with distrust, corruption, political divisions, and the departure of young people, the appearance of a generation that demands responsibility, justice, institutions, and national dignity instills hope that Serbia can be moved in a better and healthier direction”, states the announcement of the association of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija.
They called upon “all social factors, intellectuals, the academic community, Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija, as well as citizens across Serbia, to support democratic renewal and the young people who want to build a fairer, more responsible, and nationally conscious Serbia”.
The statement was signed by the Serb National Forum from Gracanica, the Serb National Council of Kosovo and Metohija, and the National Movement of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija – Fatherland.
The students in blockade yesterday published the “Memorandum on Kosovo and Metohija”, which, as they stated, is an expression of unified will.
“Kosovo and Metohija are an inalienable and integral part of the Republic of Serbia. This fact is not only a constitutional category, but a historical and moral imperative that is not subject to negotiations regarding its essence. Preserving the constitutional order of Serbia on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija is the foundation of the survival of the Serbian state and a pledge for a just peace in the region”, the Memorandum states.
It is added that Kosovo and Metohija are not just a space, but a component of the Serbian national identity, without which “our cultural and historical code loses its source and meaning”.

“As a mature and historical people, we are aware that the issue of Kosovo and Metohija cannot be resolved in isolation, but exclusively within the complex flows of the international community. Serbia must actively and constructively cooperate with all relevant international organizations, recognizing them as unavoidable partners in finding the most adequate and sustainable solution within the framework of its Constitution”, reads the Memorandum.
The students stated that their goal is a model that will, along with consistent respect for international law, ensure peace, security, and full protection of rights for the people living on that territory.
“The issue of Kosovo and Metohija concerns every citizen of this country. Our connection with the southern province does not derive exclusively from the status of being a passport holder of the Republic of Serbia, but from the essential status of being a factor in Serbian history and culture. Every individual, as a bearer of collective memory, has a duty to contribute to the preservation of this spiritual and cultural heritage, which transcends the boundaries of administrative documents”, the Memorandum states.
